Customising a La Marzocco Linea Mini by Fitting a Specht Design Kit

There's definitely no way better to give your La Marzocco Linea Mini a bespoke face lift than by installing a Specht Design Premium Kit. The premium kit replaces the steam tap and hot water knobs, brew lever and surround as well as the group handle with beautifully finished timber pieces that are crafted in the Specht factory in Victoria Australia.

Specht are an Australian company who specialize in customising all kinds of coffee machines. In their own words "Specht takes the best espresso machines and components in the world, and refines, replaces and enhances them in a way that makes them exceptional."

In this video Luke goes through the process of removing the old components off a second hand Linea Mini we have and replacing them with the Specht Premium kit. We even add some custom timber badges that we've made up to really take it to another level.

We hope that you enjoy the video and it inspires you to give your machine a face lift.

Today I'm going to show you how to transform your Linea Mini

00:00:02:21 - 00:00:04:07
from this to this.

00:00:35:20 - 00:00:38:12
So we've got a 2016 Linea Mini.

00:00:38:13 - 00:00:41:13
This is one of the originals and we're going to give it a bit of love

00:00:41:21 - 00:00:43:00
and a facelift.

00:00:46:27 - 00:00:47:23
So already

00:00:47:23 - 00:00:51:04
we've upgraded the brain in this to the new iot model.

00:00:51:09 - 00:00:55:23
And that means that you've got access via your phone to the app.

00:00:56:04 - 00:01:00:23
So you can look at adding pre infusion now to this model and a few other things.

00:01:00:23 - 00:01:04:22
There's a little video we do have on those upgrades that we can share with you.

00:01:05:07 - 00:01:08:23
And we're also then going to give it a facelift

00:01:08:23 - 00:01:10:24
with one of these Specht Design kits.

00:01:10:24 - 00:01:13:00
Now, you may have heard a of Specht Design.

00:01:13:00 - 00:01:14:28
The team there are just fantastic.

00:01:14:28 - 00:01:17:06
They've been doing some really great customised gear

00:01:17:06 - 00:01:19:24
not only for Linea Minis, but all other coffee machines.

00:01:20:09 - 00:01:22:15
And they do allow you to buy a kit like this.

00:01:23:05 - 00:01:25:15
And we're just going to show you how to install it.

00:01:25:15 - 00:01:27:01
It's not that hard.

00:01:27:01 - 00:01:30:06
Any person with a couple of tools can do it quite simply.

00:01:30:06 - 00:01:32:13
And you're going to transform the look of your machine

00:01:32:13 - 00:01:35:03
and give it that personal touch that you like.

00:01:35:22 - 00:01:36:19
Some of the tools that you're going

00:01:36:19 - 00:01:40:05
to need to be able to do this is a flat head screwdriver,

00:01:40:12 - 00:01:44:14
a Philips head screwdriver, a seven mil ring spanner,

00:01:45:22 - 00:01:48:08
a pair of pointy nose pliers.

00:01:48:08 - 00:01:48:24
And you're going to need

00:01:48:24 - 00:01:52:07
some sort of grip, spanner and maybe some sort of adjustable wrench

00:01:52:22 - 00:01:55:08
if these don't work, you're going to need yourself a bench vice.

00:01:55:08 - 00:01:56:01
And that's to be able to

00:01:56:01 - 00:01:58:18
take the group hand off because it can be a bit challenging.

00:01:58:29 - 00:02:00:18
And if you're going to be changing the badges,

00:02:00:18 - 00:02:04:02
you are going to need a heat gun to be able to remove those badges.

00:02:04:14 - 00:02:08:29
In the spec design kit that we've got now is the light timber

00:02:09:05 - 00:02:12:05
and stainless steel, steam tap and hot water knobs.

00:02:12:24 - 00:02:15:08
You've got a replacement group handle.

00:02:16:23 - 00:02:18:19
You've got your brew lever

00:02:18:19 - 00:02:22:02
and your brew lever surround

00:02:22:02 - 00:02:25:12
and you do get some of the replacement split pins to be able to put the knobs on.

00:02:26:16 - 00:02:29:05
But what we've got is a couple of badges we want to just finish off

00:02:29:05 - 00:02:33:14
that look with some nice timber badges on the front down here on the drip tray

00:02:34:02 - 00:02:36:08
and on the back of the machine up here

00:02:38:26 - 00:02:41:27
So before we get into this, I'm sure I don't need to explain this,

00:02:42:05 - 00:02:45:15
but I'm going to make sure your machine is not plugged into power.

00:02:45:29 - 00:02:49:10
It is de steamed, turned off and cooled so that you say

00:02:49:10 - 00:02:51:17
you don't electrocute yourself or burn yourself.

00:02:52:01 - 00:02:54:27
So I'm just going to start by removing all of the black components

00:02:54:27 - 00:02:57:27
from the machine, and then we will put all the timber on.

00:02:58:17 - 00:03:01:19
We're going to start with a flathead screwdriver

00:03:01:19 - 00:03:03:29
and we've got to remove this top plate

00:03:03:29 - 00:03:07:03
just four simple little

00:03:09:01 - 00:03:09:15
screws.

00:03:09:15 - 00:03:10:23
Now, these are all stainless steel,

00:03:10:23 - 00:03:13:01
so they're not going to rust, but they're not magnetic.

00:03:13:12 - 00:03:15:04
So you just got to be a little bit careful

00:03:15:04 - 00:03:18:05
when you take them off the you don't lose them.

00:03:18:12 - 00:03:21:01
And being a painted gloss, you definitely don't want to slip

00:03:21:01 - 00:03:23:10
with that screwdriver and scratch your white paint.

00:03:28:14 - 00:03:30:17
Grab yourself a little cup just to be able to pop your screws in.

00:03:30:17 - 00:03:32:04
You don't want to lose those.

00:03:32:04 - 00:03:34:12
Some of them are a bit specific and you wouldn't be out to get them back

00:03:35:21 - 00:03:38:12
So that top panel does just pop straight off.

00:03:39:19 - 00:03:42:08
We'll keep that out of the way nice and safe.

00:03:42:08 - 00:03:46:00
So I'm going to remove first the lever and it's quite easy to remove.

00:03:46:13 - 00:03:49:02
Just grab your Philips head screwdriver and there's two little

00:03:49:02 - 00:03:50:05
screws underneath here

00:03:51:21 - 00:04:00:20
and so it

00:04:00:20 - 00:04:03:19
simply just pops off once you've undone those two screws.

00:04:04:13 - 00:04:07:03
Now I'm going to remove the hot water tap

00:04:07:03 - 00:04:09:17
and this little cover just unscrews

00:04:11:22 - 00:04:12:28
I might as well do the other one

00:04:12:28 - 00:04:15:14
all at the same stage.

00:04:19:04 - 00:04:19:19
Okay.

00:04:19:19 - 00:04:23:01
Now, you can see inside here, there's these little split pins.

00:04:23:07 - 00:04:26:24
And basically, as you want this out, it grabs on that split pin

00:04:26:24 - 00:04:30:12
and the washer gets pulled, which makes the valve open and close.

00:04:30:20 - 00:04:32:18
So just make sure they're closed.

00:04:32:18 - 00:04:35:13
Grab yourself your needle nose pliers.

00:04:36:09 - 00:04:38:18
And you're going to have to try and straighten these up a little bit.

00:04:46:11 - 00:04:50:06
I was trying to do that left handed.

00:04:50:11 - 00:04:52:26
So we're jumping on the other side here. Okay.

00:04:52:26 - 00:04:57:22
So we just grab our little, needle nose pliers, squeeze those

00:05:00:06 - 00:05:02:06
nice and flat

00:05:06:16 - 00:05:07:11
okay.

00:05:07:17 - 00:05:09:21
And you can start to poke that through

00:05:11:25 - 00:05:16:00
and keep just flattening them as you go up.

00:05:17:12 - 00:05:17:22
Yeah.

00:05:17:22 - 00:05:20:13
Once you get to the end, you can just give it a bit of a knock

00:05:25:27 - 00:05:28:00
and that pin comes out

00:05:28:00 - 00:05:30:20
because you've got replacements, you can use them.

00:05:30:20 - 00:05:33:06
So make sure you got the replacement before you throw those out

00:05:33:06 - 00:05:35:06
because don't want to get stuck without them.

00:05:35:06 - 00:05:37:21
Once you remove the pin, just unscrew it

00:05:42:22 - 00:05:45:10
and you've got some washers here.

00:05:45:11 - 00:05:46:15
There we go.

00:05:46:15 - 00:05:47:16
So you've got two washers.

00:05:47:16 - 00:05:49:15
One's a, ohh there's actually three in there, there you go.

00:05:49:15 - 00:05:51:26
So there's a couple of spaces

00:05:52:00 - 00:05:55:24
there so that you can get the right leverage on that valve to make it work.

00:05:56:10 - 00:05:57:15
So we'll keep those washers

00:05:58:22 - 00:05:59:06
and we're going to

00:05:59:06 - 00:06:01:21
put that black knob away safely.

00:06:02:14 - 00:06:04:24
We'll come and do the steam, hot water tap now sorry.

00:06:13:03 - 00:06:15:04
That's how easy they should be.

00:06:17:29 - 00:06:21:17
And then lefty Lucy gets those off.

00:06:26:10 - 00:06:27:04
Grab your little washers

00:06:27:04 - 00:06:28:28
and put those aside.

00:06:32:09 - 00:06:34:16
We'll come back to that handle in just a second.

00:06:34:16 - 00:06:38:02
So we're going to have to have a look inside

00:06:38:02 - 00:06:40:02
to get this shroud off.

00:06:40:02 - 00:06:44:16
And this is where your little seven mill open end spanners going to come in.

00:06:44:16 - 00:06:50:07
There's four nuts here, which then have one of these sort of washers.

00:06:50:07 - 00:06:51:16
I don't have the actual name of those,

00:06:51:16 - 00:06:54:08
but they're like a, I don't know, a tooth kind of washer

00:06:55:12 - 00:06:57:20
and they're sort of spaced so that you can get

00:06:57:20 - 00:07:01:15
the correct depth when you screw this all back together.

00:07:01:17 - 00:07:03:00
So you just have to crack them

00:07:05:13 - 00:07:14:13
undo the nut.

00:07:14:13 - 00:07:18:27
Undo the bottom one.

00:07:21:22 - 00:07:22:25
There's not a lot of room there,

00:07:22:25 - 00:07:26:27
so there's lots of little turns just to get those to crack.

00:07:27:00 - 00:07:27:28
Here we go.

00:07:39:15 - 00:07:40:08
If you drop it,

00:07:40:08 - 00:07:43:09
you can just poke that down through that steam

00:07:43:09 - 00:07:45:01
arm hole.

00:07:46:14 - 00:07:47:26
And catch it down the bottom.

00:07:47:26 - 00:07:51:22
Undo the other side.

00:08:01:23 - 00:08:02:03
Once you've

00:08:02:03 - 00:08:04:26
got those four nuts off, you just slide that forward.

00:08:05:07 - 00:08:07:07
Now I'm losing a few washers and things in there.

00:08:07:29 - 00:08:09:21
There you go. It's really easy to remove.

00:08:09:21 - 00:08:12:10
There are those four bolts which are stuck in,

00:08:12:29 - 00:08:15:17
and we just got to swap out the new timber one.

00:08:16:01 - 00:08:20:04
I'm going to have to fish out all these little bolts and and washers here.

00:08:20:04 - 00:08:22:26
So give me a sec while I get those out.

00:08:35:11 - 00:08:37:08
I don't know what these are called, but if you know what they're called.

00:08:37:08 - 00:08:38:03
Leave a comment below.

00:08:38:03 - 00:08:40:18
I'd like to know what the proper name is for those.

00:08:40:18 - 00:08:44:23
So now that's got all of our brew lever and steam knobs removed.

00:08:45:00 - 00:08:47:04
We do need to tackle the handle.

00:08:47:04 - 00:08:49:23
Now, just remove your your basket out of it.

00:08:51:11 - 00:08:54:14
And we're going to try and hold this and get this handle to turn.

00:08:54:23 - 00:08:58:24
These can be a bit challenging, but let's see if we can do it first with a spanner

00:09:05:14 - 00:09:07:19
and a pair of multi grips

00:09:19:02 - 00:09:21:16
oh, nope.

00:09:21:29 - 00:09:22:20
No joy there.

00:09:22:20 - 00:09:29:17
Alright, so we're going to have to use the vice.

00:09:29:17 - 00:09:33:17
Now don't be afraid.

00:09:33:17 - 00:09:35:07
You are going to wreck this handle.

00:09:35:07 - 00:09:37:16
We've, we come across this quite often.

00:09:37:16 - 00:09:42:08
Pobably, i don't know, at least 50% of these do, don't want to come off.

00:09:42:08 - 00:09:45:04
They're a real problem. So you will trash this black

00:09:46:07 - 00:09:47:03
rubber.

00:09:47:16 - 00:09:50:19
Let's just see how I guess the least amount of braking

00:09:50:19 - 00:09:59:21
and trashing that we can do.

00:09:59:21 - 00:10:07:19
Okay.

00:10:07:19 - 00:10:16:06
That is moving

00:10:20:21 - 00:10:22:25
and we are gaining a little bit of thread there, which is great.

00:10:23:11 - 00:10:26:10
What can happen is the inner bolt can actually spin

00:10:26:10 - 00:10:30:05
inside the the rubber handle and if that happens, you're basically

00:10:30:05 - 00:10:33:01
going to have to cut all of the rubber off

00:10:33:25 - 00:10:35:25
and then get access to

00:10:38:02 - 00:10:39:10
the shaft

00:10:41:21 - 00:10:43:25
to be able to get it to come undone.

00:10:54:29 - 00:10:57:16
Which that's now started to spin.

00:10:57:29 - 00:10:59:16
Here comes the real fun

00:11:03:09 - 00:11:06:16
So we're going to try and slice this off.

00:11:50:21 - 00:11:52:12
There you go.

00:12:05:28 - 00:12:06:20
All right.

00:12:06:22 - 00:12:10:13
So now we can get a good grip on there

00:12:10:13 - 00:12:12:18
and hopefully get that undone.

00:12:14:13 - 00:12:23:13
Oh, okay.

00:12:24:09 - 00:12:25:08
Here we go.

00:12:28:02 - 00:12:28:09
So that

00:12:28:09 - 00:12:30:25
thread's got some sort of glue on there holding that in tight.

00:12:31:15 - 00:12:36:14
So now you could probably make something up your own, handle something in there.

00:12:36:24 - 00:12:37:21
Turn on the lathe.

00:12:37:21 - 00:12:40:01
You could always have an option to swap something out.

00:12:41:27 - 00:12:43:29
Alright, so we've got our

00:12:43:29 - 00:12:46:08
hand, our group head removed from our handle.

00:12:47:23 - 00:12:50:15
So before I pop this on, you could glue this.

00:12:50:15 - 00:12:53:14
Now, the thing with timber, you do have to look after it.

00:12:53:14 - 00:12:55:17
Just like any timber will heat and swell.

00:12:56:09 - 00:12:57:19
So there's probably some care instructions.

00:12:57:19 - 00:13:00:11
Jump on the web site I'm sure they'll tell you how to look after these handles.

00:13:00:21 - 00:13:02:06
I wouldn't put them through the dishwasher.

00:13:02:06 - 00:13:05:14
Don't get them super wet, but just keep it nice and dry.

00:13:05:14 - 00:13:08:09
And I'd say some sort of oil, like a vegetable oil would be something

00:13:08:15 - 00:13:10:19
that would be looking after that kind of timber.

00:13:11:28 - 00:13:15:20
To be able to get it off later though, I'm going to use just some thread tape

00:13:15:20 - 00:13:18:28
rather than glue it on because I don't really want to damage

00:13:18:28 - 00:13:22:02
that handle like I did trying to take the black rubber one off.

00:13:22:16 - 00:13:24:28
So just a bit of thread tape there if you've got it handy.

00:13:26:13 - 00:13:27:19
Definitely don't use loctite.

00:13:27:19 - 00:13:30:10
You will just get yourself in a world of pain

00:13:30:10 - 00:13:32:11
if you ever want to remove it.

00:13:36:19 - 00:13:39:08
And thread that on.

00:13:39:08 - 00:13:42:26
Whoop don't want to see

00:13:42:26 - 00:13:47:29
that little burr of tape.

00:13:47:29 - 00:13:54:01
There you go.

00:13:54:01 - 00:13:56:25
Look at that transformation.

00:13:56:25 - 00:13:59:12
Looks so light and fresh. It's really nice.

00:14:00:11 - 00:14:03:21
Pop your basket back in and that's ready to go.

00:14:04:29 - 00:14:07:23
So next, I'm going to just give this a quick little clean up because there's

00:14:07:23 - 00:14:10:15
a little bit of residue there from a couple of years of use,

00:14:10:23 - 00:14:12:19
and then we'll pop on this.

00:14:12:19 - 00:14:14:18
The cover plate and the lever arm.

00:14:14:18 - 00:14:18:00
One good thing that we use to clean coffee machines is window cleaner.

00:14:18:11 - 00:14:21:03
So if you just get a cloth first with a bit of soapy water

00:14:21:03 - 00:14:24:11
and give it a bit of a wipe down, but we just spray them with yeah window

00:14:24:11 - 00:14:36:21
cleaner and a good bit of paper towel, and they come up a treat.

00:14:36:21 - 00:14:37:27
Now it's time for the faceplate.

00:14:37:27 - 00:14:40:16
And you can just grab the other one as a reference

00:14:41:02 - 00:14:42:14
and just see which way that goes.

00:14:42:14 - 00:14:45:29
There's a slight higher ridge and you'll know that that's the top

00:14:46:11 - 00:14:48:18
on the original. It says Brew and Stop.

00:14:49:11 - 00:14:51:07
But yeah, you can just compare them

00:14:51:07 - 00:14:53:06
and then you'll know that this one sits on the top.

00:14:54:16 - 00:14:55:03
So we'll

00:14:55:03 - 00:14:57:21
make sure your hands are clean before you start touching all your timber too.

00:14:58:23 - 00:15:00:29
So we just line that up,

00:15:01:10 - 00:15:03:20
slot that on nicely

00:15:06:26 - 00:15:09:06
and you get a flat washer first, then one of these

00:15:10:08 - 00:15:11:21
grippy washers.

00:15:17:25 - 00:15:19:02
Now don't tighten that up.

00:15:19:02 - 00:15:21:25
You want to get them all in place

00:15:21:26 - 00:15:24:04
because there's something you're just going to have to factor in

00:15:24:09 - 00:15:26:00
before you lock this down tight.

00:15:26:00 - 00:15:28:25
If you get it wrong, you'll only have to undo these again.

00:15:29:06 - 00:15:31:03
I'll show you that in a moment.

00:15:33:18 - 00:15:38:12
So we're going to put the lever knob on before we adjust the height of this.

00:15:38:12 - 00:15:40:16
And it's very important.

00:15:40:16 - 00:15:43:18
So we're just going to slot this on,

00:15:43:24 - 00:15:48:04
grab our two little Philips head screws.

00:15:48:04 - 00:15:54:07
Pop those in.

00:15:56:10 - 00:15:57:23
So this whole lever

00:15:57:23 - 00:16:00:26
has the metal plate there, which slides.

00:16:00:27 - 00:16:03:12
Now, I'm just being really gentle as I slide that along,

00:16:03:12 - 00:16:04:16
because if you don't have it

00:16:04:16 - 00:16:07:03
at the right height, it's going to bind and cut your timber.

00:16:07:17 - 00:16:11:05
So just make sure you get down and have a good look at the clearance

00:16:11:05 - 00:16:11:28
that's happening here.

00:16:13:24 - 00:16:14:16
Otherwise you will

00:16:14:16 - 00:16:17:03
literally just shave your timber and you'll wreck that.

00:16:18:13 - 00:16:20:12
Okay when you're happy with it,

00:16:20:12 - 00:16:22:06
hold it in place

00:16:23:20 - 00:16:26:21
just tighten up a couple of them.

00:16:26:21 - 00:16:31:08
Don't need to go crazy tight

00:16:31:08 - 00:16:33:23
just til, just til it's firm,

00:16:34:28 - 00:16:36:19
then just recheck

00:16:37:28 - 00:16:40:16
There you go and that's nice and free moving.

00:16:42:06 - 00:16:42:27
If you get,

00:16:42:27 - 00:16:46:17
you don't want to undo any of these parts because that is the adjuster for it all

00:16:47:07 - 00:16:51:14
and you'll start to get yourself in a lot of trouble if you start playing

00:16:51:14 - 00:16:52:20
with all of that.

00:16:59:18 - 00:17:01:02
Okay, so we've got our new timber knobs.

00:17:01:02 - 00:17:03:07
and we've just got to take off our stainless steel caps here.

00:17:06:22 - 00:17:09:16
Now, the kit doesn't come with any sort of lubricant,

00:17:09:16 - 00:17:12:17
so make sure you grab yourself some lube and you've got a grease your knobs.

00:17:12:17 - 00:17:15:05
Just give yourself a little bit on the finger

00:17:16:23 - 00:17:19:01
and wipe it onto this

00:17:19:12 - 00:17:20:23
thread here.

00:17:21:15 - 00:17:24:09
So just put a little bit inside this thread as well.

00:17:24:09 - 00:17:25:28
It is a brass thread.

00:17:25:28 - 00:17:29:29
So when you got brass on brass, if you keep pushing too hard

00:17:29:29 - 00:17:31:12
on these kind of threads, they can bind.

00:17:31:12 - 00:17:33:17
So you basically don't have too much.

00:17:34:20 - 00:17:37:10
You can never have enough lube on these knobs.

00:17:38:21 - 00:17:40:15
So thread those on.

00:17:43:03 - 00:17:44:10
There you go.

00:17:44:10 - 00:17:48:02
It was a little bit firm, but at the end it does get nice and nice and loose.

00:17:48:19 - 00:17:51:17
So now we've got to add our spacers and our washers

00:17:51:17 - 00:17:53:02
back in place.

00:17:55:29 - 00:17:57:06
And you have to have your steam tap

00:17:57:06 - 00:18:00:15
all the way in to be able to get you split pin in.

00:18:00:15 - 00:18:02:08
And in the kit, you've got two

00:18:02:08 - 00:18:05:26
new split pins.

00:18:05:26 - 00:18:09:01
There

00:18:09:01 - 00:18:12:16
we go.

00:18:15:11 - 00:18:18:16
I'm just going to trim these down because

00:18:18:16 - 00:18:21:03
I think these are the same pins that they use in the

00:18:22:26 - 00:18:24:29
um Linea Mini, in the in the classics I should say

00:18:25:15 - 00:18:27:15
that sometimes they can be a bit long and a bit hard to get in.

00:18:28:20 - 00:18:31:18
So I've just trimmed that down a little bit.

00:18:42:26 - 00:18:46:18
So I'm just going to kink this pin

00:18:46:20 - 00:18:48:09
a little bit and just see if that helps us get

00:18:48:09 - 00:18:49:00
these in.

00:19:08:19 - 00:19:09:08
Great.

00:19:10:25 - 00:19:13:16
I'll just grab it from this end.

00:19:28:04 - 00:19:28:17
There we go.

00:19:28:17 - 00:19:30:00
So I fed that through now.

00:19:30:00 - 00:19:33:18
Now if you just bend back the one of these,

00:19:33:21 - 00:19:35:17
these bottom pins.

00:19:37:23 - 00:19:38:16
And now pop

00:19:38:16 - 00:19:46:00
your end caps on.

00:19:46:00 - 00:19:50:26
Beautiful.

00:19:50:26 - 00:19:55:22
Alright,

00:19:55:22 - 00:20:02:02
so for now, the hot water tap,

00:20:03:02 - 00:20:07:01
you can get yourself a good amount of food grade grease or

00:20:08:01 - 00:20:09:20
silicone lube something like that.

00:20:09:20 - 00:20:12:20
Pop some inside the thread

00:20:16:12 - 00:20:17:03
or can it have been

00:20:17:03 - 00:20:20:06
a paper towel around clean up a bit of the grease?

00:20:20:06 - 00:20:21:07
It does get everywhere.

00:20:21:07 - 00:20:24:11
You don't want to get any of that on your timber.

00:20:24:11 - 00:20:30:16
There you go,

00:20:30:16 - 00:20:33:27
so it is quite firm at the start.

00:20:33:27 - 00:20:35:04
I was really worried about the threads,

00:20:35:04 - 00:20:37:06
but once they're on they're, they're really good.

00:20:38:21 - 00:20:39:24
Beautiful.

00:20:41:20 - 00:20:44:11
Grab your washer and your spacer, pop

00:20:44:11 - 00:20:45:10
those on

00:20:58:09 - 00:21:01:28
and pop your plit pin back in again.

00:21:04:17 - 00:21:20:09
And there you go.

00:21:20:13 - 00:21:23:13
So that was one that I cut short and I did a little half bend on it.

00:21:23:13 - 00:21:26:02
It was so much easier to get that in.

00:21:26:02 - 00:21:41:17
Pop open on our end cap.

00:21:41:17 - 00:21:45:21
Beautiful.

00:21:47:04 - 00:21:49:27
All right so pop our top plate back on our Linea Mini.

00:21:49:27 - 00:21:52:05
You'll see that one edges got a nicer curve on it

00:21:52:05 - 00:21:54:29
which is the one that faces you just so you don't get that wrong.

00:22:01:17 - 00:22:01:28
And these are

00:22:01:28 - 00:22:04:18
your four flat bladed stainless steel screws

00:22:20:09 - 00:22:23:01
so that is the standard spec kit that you can buy

00:22:23:01 - 00:22:27:06
and it looks beautiful, but this red badge really just does stand out.

00:22:27:11 - 00:22:31:28
So we're going to remove those and put on our own La Marzocco timber badges.

00:22:31:28 - 00:22:33:25
It's really going to complete the look.

00:22:33:25 - 00:22:34:22
To get these ones off.

00:22:34:22 - 00:22:36:11
You are going to need your heat gun.

00:22:36:11 - 00:22:38:02
Just put it on low setting

00:22:38:02 - 00:22:41:11
and you just want to start to get a little bit of heat behind it.

00:22:42:24 - 00:22:44:25
Don't get it too hot.

00:22:52:13 - 00:22:54:28
Just til you can get an edge up

00:22:55:23 - 00:22:56:20
on that.

00:22:56:20 - 00:23:04:03
Melt that glue just a little bit

00:23:04:03 - 00:23:08:26
behind there.

00:23:08:26 - 00:23:18:22
You're better to be very careful

00:23:18:22 - 00:23:24:07
when you're doing this kind of stuff than be too too aggressive with that heat.

00:23:26:12 - 00:23:28:21
So I just always test it.

00:23:30:13 - 00:23:32:02
You can always add more heat.

00:23:32:02 - 00:23:33:06
You just can't take it away.

00:23:33:06 - 00:23:34:07
There you go.

00:23:37:10 - 00:23:37:15
There's

00:23:37:15 - 00:23:41:02
just a bit of that sticky there still.

00:23:41:02 - 00:23:44:24
Don't use a blade or anything like that just use your fingers.

00:23:45:24 - 00:23:48:19
Clean up any of that extra glue

00:23:48:20 - 00:23:54:04
and we'll get ourself a bit of metho.

00:23:54:04 - 00:24:00:18
So the badges we supply already have the 3M stuck on the back of it.

00:24:00:18 - 00:24:01:13
3M sort of sticky.

00:24:01:13 - 00:24:03:14
So you just remove your

00:24:05:10 - 00:24:06:21
backing from it

00:24:07:21 - 00:24:10:11
and you can put this anywhere.

00:24:10:11 - 00:24:11:27
I mean, you can put it in the middle.

00:24:11:27 - 00:24:14:19
Looks pretty cool in the middle actually, doesn't it?

00:24:14:19 - 00:24:17:03
Or you can put it off to the side where the other badge was.

00:24:17:25 - 00:24:30:12
I reckon we go dead center cool

00:24:30:12 - 00:24:38:03
and we've got to do the one on the front of the machine to.

00:24:44:19 - 00:24:47:08
Ohhh melting the plastic.

00:25:09:03 - 00:25:11:16
On this side, you can put the badge in a lot of different places.

00:25:11:27 - 00:25:14:11
You could have it in the center on the top panel.

00:25:14:21 - 00:25:16:11
You can have it in the middle

00:25:16:11 - 00:25:19:17
and some people even like it just down here on, on the chassis frame.

00:25:20:02 - 00:25:22:24
So I don't know which one you reckon we should do?

00:25:27:25 - 00:25:30:15
Get yourself nice and level.

00:25:30:15 - 00:25:36:00
There you go.

00:25:36:00 - 00:25:39:05
So they have it pretty easy

00:25:39:05 - 00:25:42:29
to install a Specht kit on your own Linea Mini at home.

00:25:43:13 - 00:25:47:00
I hope that's inspired you to think about what sort of customization or mods

00:25:47:00 - 00:25:48:18
you might do to your machine.

00:25:48:18 - 00:25:50:19
You could have this light colored timber.

00:25:50:19 - 00:25:53:23
There are some dark colors or a whole range of other kits that are available

00:25:53:26 - 00:25:57:09
not only for the Linea Mini, but a whole range of other high end machines.

00:25:57:21 - 00:25:59:17
If we can help you with that, hey please reach out.

00:25:59:17 - 00:26:02:00
We'd love to support you on the kit

00:26:02:00 - 00:26:05:05
and what you want to do to make that machine personalized for yourself.

00:26:05:22 - 00:26:08:01
The workmanship of these kits is amazing!

00:26:08:01 - 00:26:11:14
How well they've inlaid the metal and these little studs and finish them off.

00:26:11:14 - 00:26:12:12
It's just beautiful.

00:26:12:12 - 00:26:15:28
It's a real credit to Specht and the team creating such a great piece.

00:26:15:28 - 00:26:17:16
So well done, guys.
